Welcome to Blood & Thunder Magazine's official website. Blood & Thunder is the first roller derby magazine dedicated to the modern revival of the sport. We feature articles on derby leagues, teams and skaters, coverage of major tournaments and derby events, derby history and legends, art, music, and the lifestyle surrounding the world of roller derby, as well as columns pertaining to practical issues such as health and training. Blood & Thunder founders and co-owners Dale "Black Dahlia" Rio and Lindy "Robin Graves" Hartsfield met while playing together for the L.A. Derby Dolls. Dahlia went on to play with leagues in Seattle and New York City and founded New Zealand's first derby league, the Pirate City Rollers. Currently on an injury-induced medical hiatus, she hopes to start playing again if and when her body allows. Robin had to stop skating, but she still volunteers for the Dolls. Blood & Thunder Magazine is available for subscription and is also available in stores across North America and abroad, as well as through online retailers. Please check our retailers page for a store near you. |
